Heat shrink sleeve TA61

HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE IN POLYOLEFIN “TA61 SERIES” SHRINKAGE 6:1 WITH INTERNAL ADHESIVE

The TA61 sleeve is a flexible heat shrinkable sleeve with internal adhesive. The inner surface of the sleeve is coated with a hot-melt adhesive that melts around the object during shrinkage, in order to protect it from any infiltration of water or moisture. The high shrinkage ratio makes this sleeve suitable for protecting particularly irregular objects due to high dimensional differences. Ideal in all applications that require a high degree of protection.

  • Shrinkage ratio: 6:1 with internal adhesive. The sleeve shrinks 6 times with respect to the initial diameter
  • Available diameters: from 19.0mm to 235.0mm
  • Operating temperature: -55°C to +110°C
  • Compliant with Standards: ASTMD2671, UL224, ISO62, IEC243, ISO846, IEC93

Heat Shrinking Guidelines

  1. For shrinking the heat shrink tubing, use equipment specifically designed for this operation, such as heat guns or hot air tunnels.
  2. Start shrinking from one end – preferably the most critical point – and then proceed gradually toward the opposite end. This method helps prevent the formation of air pockets between the inner wall of the tubing and the substrate.
  3. If the substrate is metal or a good thermal conductor, preheating is recommended to avoid “cold spots” and ensure smooth, uniform recovery of the tubing.
  4. To prevent overheating, ensure even heat distribution throughout the process. Excessive heating during the shrinking process may cause bubbling, discoloration, or, in some cases, damage or rupture of the tubing.
