BRAIDED SHEATHS
Frequently Asked Questions
In what area are expandable braided sheaths used?
Braided sheaths are mainly used where it is necessary to put in order and group electrical cables.
How to use the expandable braided sheath
Braided sheaths are pulled manually over the bundles of cables to be covered.
Thanks to the Push-Back effect, which allows the braided sheath to widen when it is pushed, sliding it over the cable bundle is particularly easy.
Braided sheath intended use
There is a wide range of braided sheaths that differ from each other in various properties:
Temperatures of use
Self-extinguishing
Resistance to rubbing
Approvals
And other technical characteristics that define the sector of use:
Automotive Electrical Wiring Production
Railway
Appliance
Machine Tools
Aeronautical
Aerospace
Electronic
Are there any particular indications on storage?
For proper storage of braided sheaths, make sure that they are stored in a cool, dry and clean place.
Cutting tips to avoid fraying
To cut braided sheaths, we recommend using a device suitable for hot cutting, such as our TGR60 and TGR100-PRO devices.
These devices allow you to cut the braided sheaths avoiding the fraying of the ends which would happen if the cut was made cold with traditional scissors. When hot cutting expandable braided sheaths, it is very important to ensure that the workstation is well ventilated. In case of insufficient ventilation, equip the workstation with an air intake system.
How to choose the internal diameter of braided sheaths
The internal diameter of braided sheaths should preferably be chosen so that it is roughly 20% greater than the object to be covered.
How to remove the expandable braided sheath
To remove the braided sheath, simply cut it longitudinally using a scissor.
