Heat shrink slevve STMT36AS-BUS BAR 36KV

HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE FOR MEDIUM VOLTAGE BUS BARS with HIGH THICKNESS SHRINKAGE > 2 ÷ 1

The STMT36KVAS Series heat shrink sleeve has been designed to isolate medium voltage bus bars up to a value of 36 KV. The insulating properties of this sleeve allow the reduction of the space between one bus bar and the other up to half or a third of the original air space, giving the possibility of building smaller electrical panels and ducts.

  • Shrinkage ratio: 2:1. The sleeve shrinks 2 times with respect to the initial diameter.
  • Available diameters: from 25mm to 230mm
  • Operating temperature: -40°C to +105°C
  • Compliant with Standards: ASTM D 2671, ASTM D 570, IEC 61249-2-21, IEC 60684-3

Heat shrink indication

  1. When shrinking the heat-shrinking sleeve, use equipment made for this specific operation such as, for example, guns or hot air tunnels.
  2. Shrink the sleeve starting at one end, the most critical part, and then proceed slowly to the opposite end. This method avoids the formation of air bubbles between the inner wall of the heat shrink sleeve and the object it covers.
  3. In the event that the object to be covered is made of metal or a good heat conductor, it is advisable to preheat the object to avoid “cold areas”, so as to allow a perfect and soft adaptation of the heat-shrinking sheath.
  4. In order to avoid overheating of the heat shrink sleeve, ensure there is regular heat distribution. Excessive overheating of the material during the shrinking process can cause bubbles, discoloration and in some cases even breakage of the heat-shrinking sleeve.
