STP135-EMI heat shrink sheath

CONDUCTIVE SHRINKABLE POLYOLEFIN SLEEVE SHRINKAGE 2 ÷ 1

The STP135-EMI Series sleeve is a polyolefin heat shrinkable sleevewith a highly conductive inner coating. Used in particularfor electrical joints, the STP135-EMI Series sleeve can be used as a replacement for traditional welding. Furthermore, the use of this type of sleeve, in addition to ensuring electrical continuity between joints, for example between two electrical cables, also guarantees EMI (electromagnetic interference) protection around the joint itself.

  • 2:1 shrinkage ratio: The sheath shrinks 2 times with rescpect to the initial diameter
  • Available diameters: from 3.2mm to 50.8mm
  • Operating temperature: -55°C to +135°C
  • Conforms to standards: MIL Standard R46846, ASTM E-595, 2002/95/CE RoHS

Heat shrink indication

  1. When shrinking the heat shrinking sleeve, use equipment made for this specific operation such as, for example, guns or hot air tunnels.
  2. Shrink the sleeve starting at one end, the most critical part, and then proceed slowly to the opposite end. This method avoids the formation of air bubbles between the inner wall of the heat shrink sleeve and the object it covers.
  3. In the event that the object to be covered is made of metal or a good heat conductor, it is advisable to preheat the object to avoid “cold areas”, so as to allow a perfect and soft adaptation of the heat-shrinking sleeve.
  4. In order to avoid overheating of the heat shrink sleeve, ensure there is regular heat distribution. Excessive overheating of the material during the shrinking process can cause bubbling, discoloration and in some cases even breakage of the heat shrink sleeve.
